agrarzeitung Smart Farming report: Connecting agrirouter to John Deere
We're pleased to be featured in the Smart Farming section of the German agricultural trade newspaper agrarzeitung. In its May 8, 2026 issue (az 19), journalist Robin Schmidt tells the story of how the team behind the agrirouter established a direct connection to the John Deere Operations Center™.
What the article covers
In his interview with the agrarzeitung, our CEO Johannes Sonnen describes the paradigm shift behind the integration:
- A new internal G4 interface based on the OpenAPI industry standard, which we now offer to our partners as a modern alternative to the legacy agrirouter API
- A dedicated area inside the new agrirouter that lets us integrate selected partner APIs such as John Deere – and also others like CNHi FieldOps
- The joint evaluation with sugar producer Pfeifer & Langen that preceded our rollout
- The current scope of the integration (ISOXML yield and application maps, analysis inside the JDOC, master and task data) and our 2026 roadmap, with cross-system master data synchronization in the first half of the year and John Deere telemetry plus machine-side map exchange in the second
A second piece in the same report goes beyond the field: Johannes Sonnen explains why we see data flows gaining importance in livestock farming, food processing and retail too – for example to support CO₂ accounting and Planet-Score labelling.
