SiteRouter: VDBUM and DKE-Data begin implementation
On 27 August 2026, VDBUM Service GmbH and DKE-Data GmbH & Co. KG signed a cooperation agreement to implement SiteRouter. In its press release dated 7 September, the German association for the construction industry, environmental technology and mechanical engineering, Verband der Baubranche, Umwelt- und Maschinentechnik e. V. (VDBUM), announces the start of implementation. The aim is to create manufacturer-neutral infrastructure for standardized data exchange in the construction industry.
Putting existing standards to work for mixed fleets
SiteRouter builds on established semantics and existing standards. The press release identifies ISO 15143-3 and its further development, MIC 4.0, as the basis. The initial focus is on the reliable and secure exchange of telemetry and operating data in accordance with ISO 15143-3 (AEMP 2.0).
The aim is to bring together data from mixed fleets across manufacturers and make it available to ERP, BIM and analytics systems, without requiring a complete system change or dependence on a single manufacturer.
VDBUM describes the following benefits and use cases for users and manufacturers:
- Mixed-fleet interoperability: One connection is intended to provide access to many data sources, reducing the current large number of individual interfaces to one.
- Scalability: Neutral, shared infrastructure is intended to reduce integration and maintenance work and establish clear responsibilities.
- Practical use cases: The release gives examples of reliable, auditable data flows: automated allocation of machine operating times, CO₂ and emissions reporting, documented excavation depths, and comparisons of planned and actual construction progress.
- Integration with existing systems: OEMs and software providers are to be able to connect their solutions securely through a defined interface. Existing systems will be integrated, not replaced.

Dieter Schnittjer, Managing Director of VDBUM Service GmbH, who signed the agreement, says:
